Chance at full ride?

Hello TLS,

I am finally in the middle of actually applying and starting my cycle, but I had a quick question for the chance gurus here. I am a 3.81/169 URM (Mexican-American). I know I have a good shot at several schools in the T-14, but how far down the rankings should I expect to apply if I am looking for a decent scholarship/full ride?

Any general advice that can be given will be much appreciated!

You might be able to pull off GW's binding-ED. The deadline is December 15th. I don't know how much weight they give to URM's, but since you may already be competitive for a little money there I'd say give them a shot.

I thought binding ED meant they prob won't offer too much money because you have to go, so there's no incentive for them to offer you any?

GW gives a full ride to anyone accepted ED. I think this makes the standards a little higher than regular decision, but it's still worth a shot.

A full ride anywhere is quite tempting, but I don't think I want to commit myself to ED. I think I will sprinkle some t-30ish schools in with my other applications and see if anyone offers me good money. Thanks!

How important is a full ride? With your numbers and URM status, you can receive pretty good money at higher schools, possibly even a little money at lower T14s. GL!

I'd recommend applying to Washington University in St. Louis. It's a T20 and is notorious for huge scholarship offers.
