3.82/171 Chicago?

Last year I applied around Nov. 21 and was straight rejected from Chicago in Dec/Jan. I got into NYU that cycle, but I wasn't in great financial shape (and I wasn't completely sold on NYU), so in September I reapplied to Chicago and Columbia (and a few other T14) with hopes of a better cycle.
My softs are pretty good: Frat VP, Student Body President, academic awards/pubs, etc. Anyway, my current girlfriend is a grad student at Purdue, so I'm dying to see an acceptance from Chicago in December.
What do you guys think? Such a small class size, but I want to hope...

Has anything about your application changed? If not - why would the decision be any different?

Excellent point. I'm retaking the lsat in Dec., but I was hoping the fact that I got some WE at a firm this summer and applied *earlier* would make this year's app a better one.

When did you apply? From your stats, I don't see why you would've been rejected unless you applied super late.

Last year, I applied November 21.
This year, I applied Sept. 17 (and I'm currently under review). *nervous*

I think an earlier app can only help, and maybe they will like the WE?
Good luck!

Perhaps you should consider Early Decisioning?

Hm..weird. I don't think Nov 21 is late at all. It's actually on the earlier side. But Sep 17 is really early (jealous you were done so early), so application timing shouldn't be an issue.

He's already applied!

Chicago 3.78 / 171.................(+.02, 0)
Wth. How did you get straight up rejected when you were at/above both medians. I would have thought that at worst it would be a waitlist.

It's still before most ED deadlines? I'm not familiar with what the deadline for Chicago is, but a lot of schools allow you to switch from RD to ED before the deadline.
Edit: it's a moot point if OP doesn't want to ED either way though.

I thought about that for months. Some of us just have to get the axe, I suppose.
Believe me when I say I followed their app guidelines to the letter this time.

Funny thing is you were above/below for NYU's median for that cycle.
NYU 3.71 / 172......................(-.01, +1)
And you got in.
Lols.

Whoa... This is the post I needed to see. I hadn't done that kind of digging yet.
