It seems George Washington University does not like to give out fee waivers. Knowing that I will have to pay to apply, I want to know if I have a realistic chance before I pull the trigger.
LSDAC GPA: 3.3
LSAT: 168
Mediocre softs, straight out of undergrad.
What do you think? Do I have a shot at GW?

yeah. what's 100 bucks in the scheme of law school?
coming from the guy who isn't applying to GWU because they wouldn't give him a fee waiver (but only because it's a quasi-safety....i'd take fordham over gwu for example.)

You have a better than 50% shot at GW, but I would also apply to schools like BU, BC, Fordham, UT, and WUSTL.

Hey omninode, I've got the same gpa and pretty confident I'll hit the 168/9 mark in December, and also looking at GW as my main target straight outta undergrad. I'm definitely going to +1 paying the fee to apply, you definitely have a shot (about 50/50 or so). Mind if I ask what your other targets are? Mine (if I get the lsat) are USC, WUSTL, UIUC, BU, and maybe Emory, and then a whole bunch of safeties to see the best school I can go to with lots of $$$.

I will be focusing on the midwest/great lakes region (hoping to find work in the Chicago area). My targets are UIUC, WUSTL, Minnesota, and Indiana (Bloomington). I may even reach for Vanderbilt (got a waiver), although I think I will likely get rejected. I wouldn't call GW a target (not particularly interested in moving to DC) but I want to apply there as well as BU, William and Mary, and Boston College so I can have some east coast coverage I need it (or if they offer me $$$). I hadn't considered Fordham but I will definitely put that on my list.
I think you have talked me into applying at GW. Because all of the schools mentioned above (except Fordham and BC) have given me a waiver, I was unsure if GW is worth paying the fee for a school that is not a target and I probably will not choose to attend, given my regional preferences. At less than 50% chance of admission, it feels like a gamble. But you only live once, right?
