HYS with 171, 3.93?

I have a 171 (retaken from a 168... so there's the 170 average) and a 3.93 lsac gpa. Do I have a shot at HYS? And is it too late to apply if I send in the application at the end of November? Also, do I have a shot at Columbia if I don't do the ED?

Softs include a Fulbright teaching grant, good work experience, and that's about it.

Stanford is the most likely if you really gear your app towards them... but otherwise youll probably be shut out of YHS, Columbia ED might be in your best interest...

How can one gear their applications towards a school? Just mention it in the PS and get LORs mentioning it?

Also, would I be better off just waiting until next year? Or is it not too late yet? I still don't have my PS...

SLS has specific LOR forms. Those in conjunction with targeted letters and possibly a tailored resume may help.

Harvard & Yale are definitely possible but Stanford is your best bet- as long as you do a good job of presenting your personal attributes.
I don't think you're a shoe-in for Columbia RD- if you're willing to give up the chance of getting into HYS-you might want to apply ED to Columbia.
Good luck!

Thanks! What if I just apply early next year to all of them? Would applying as soon as applications open help me enough at Columbia that I won't need to commit to ED?

HY are out unless you attend an Ivy-caliber UG, but you have a shot at Stanford.

Good thing there isn't an elementary school math section of the LSAT.

I went to a top tier liberal arts college... also, does the fulbright make up for lack of ivy if they're looking for a prestigious background?

A Fulbright would be a very good soft. I think that has a chance to help push you over the edge for Stanford.

Hahaha I am indeed pretty bad at math, but this is how LSAC calculated it. They don't use 169.5.

Where was your Fulbright for? My girlfriend is currently in the application process for one.
