Hello all,
Here is the important info:
Numbers: 3.54/163
Softs: Teach for America, extremely active in leadership/extra-curriculars at undergrad, good PS and LORs.
Also, I tried to apply REALLY early, already sent in applications 2 weeks ago (around Oct. 20th)
I originally was hoping for UCLA, USC, maybe even Berkeley, but I'm pretty sure those are out of the question after my LSAT. Here are the schools I am REALLY hoping for now:
U. of Washington (I'm originally from WA)
UC - Hastings
UC - Davis
Lewis and Clark
I really want to head back to the west coast--UW probably my number 1 choice right now. I've had enough of Chicago.
Thanks!

Are you totally opposed to retaking the LSAT?

Not necessarily. I have already sent in applications, though. I really want to begin next year. Would it really be worth it? In other words, are my chances really that low with what I have? Would I have to withdraw my current applications?

(bump)
Researching all of the admission predicting tools and graphs, it looks like I have at least a 50/50 shot at UW and UC Davis. Also, the official LSAC guide charts of LSAT vs GPA Apps/admits looks decent.
Does this sound accurate? (law predictor claims to be pretty accurate - "consider" at both schools, 60% at davis, 49% at UW)
How much help can I expect from my WE (Teach for America) and the fact that I applied pretty early?
Thoughts?

can't answer any of your questions, but i'm in the exact same boat.
got a 163 as well in october, thinking about retaking, but only after trying my luck this cycle. my softs are a lot worse than yours, but my gpa is a bit higher. i applied to hastings/davis as well, but even if i get in, i'm not sure what i'm going to be doing next year.

Thanks for the input. Good luck--if you get in maybe I will too. Maybe see you at Davis next year? I applied to Hastings too, but I'm kind of hoping for Davis.

i actually prefer hastings to davis despite the rank due to the bigger city environment, but it'll be a tough choice between uc davis, uc hastings, and taking a year off and retaking the lsat.
decisions, decisions.

You're in luck because you'll get into Davis (3.63/163) but not Hastings (3.60/164).

Statistically you are below UW's median for GPA and right at the median for LSAT. So yeah, that's pretty tough to call and I think 50/50 is a fair estimate. Good luck.
