Any idea what percentage of people on the waitlist eventually get accepted? In general or at MN specifically?

Re: 3.5/166 chance at Minnesota?
I'm not in the same boat exactly, but I'm 164/3.82
I'm curious as to whether I have a chance at Minnesota. I'm very seriously considering doing ED there and am wondering how that will turn out. I honestly would prefer BC and BU over Minnesota but I am a WL for both of those schools. I don't know what to do! (sorry to hijack your thread).
Have you considered ED for Minn?

What a crazy skew! Do any other law schools have that big a range/bias toward the 75th %ile?ixwad wrote:GPA: 3.5 (UW-Madison)
LSAT: 157 ('09) 158 ('09) 166 (Oct. '10)
Graduated in May – currently working for a restorative justice program through AmeriCorps. I'm a white male Wisconsin resident.
Minnesota's stats sort of psyche me out:
LSAT Median: 167
25-75 Percentile: 159-168
GPA Median: 3.71
25-75 Percentile: 3.36-3.84
So I'm a bit below median for GPA, and just below median for LSAT. From what I hear, it's pretty hopeless if you're below both medians. However, I'm WAY above the 25% for LSAT, which frustrates me if I do indeed not have any chance. LSP says I'm above 53% of admitted applicants.
Do I have a decent shot?
Thanks for your input.

IDk yall...I think OP has a pretty good shot at Minnesota. He’s sitting very comfortably between the 25th and 75th. I would say retake to be safe, but I’m not sure that it’s necessary. Hell, I would go so far as to say that it's not necessary.
IDK... How strong are your softs?

Barring a high (3.7+) GPA and/or URM status, anything below 167 is dicey. With a 166, OP's GPA is too low to have a strong shot (still worth the app fee, though IMHO).

Wisconsin and Minnesota have tuition reciprocity, so even if I get in and have to pay sticker, I'll be in okay shape compared to a lot of places.
My softs are okay. I worked multiple jobs all the way through college though, which cut down on clubs and whatnot. LORs are a big concern, actually. I can get phenomenal work letters, but any academic letters I get will be pretty average at best. I plan to have a killer personal statement, though. Gahh, 167 would have made me feel so much better.
Thanks for all your input so far, btw.

WI and MN residents pay in-state tuition at either state's public schools.Gemini Hopeful wrote:What's tuition reciprocity?

Retake for a 167 if you want UMN.
