175/3.1-- Final year 4.0, any experience?

So I know how many of these posts are redundant or fail to research before asking, but I really haven't found much on situations like mine.
I stumbled my way through my first 3 years of undergrad, with lots of As but a lot of Fs and Ws as well-- finished with a 2.8. Realizing I needed to change a lot more than my grades, I took a year off from school to work and I am now finishing up my last year of undergrad with (what should be) a perfect 4.0 in Environmental Science/Toxicology

My question is this: does anyone have experience with the "born-again" splitters? Obviously law schools will take change into account, but is it enough to sway them from my other 3 dismal years? The general advice with splitters is to hit as many "Consider/Weak Consider" schools as possible and see what sticks, but I was hoping for maybe some personal experiences that might ease my fears. You know, just a little :?

Thanks guys!

For all practical purposes your UGPA is 3.1. The extreme upward trend can differentiate you from someone with similar #s but won't put you over someone with better numbers so the boost is very negligible.
