Just for fun: 3.0, 175

Technically I have a 164 and a 175, which might matter to some schools, but my 164 is from February of 09, and the 175 is from last month, so I'm hoping that the 164 won't be seen as very relevant.

Here are the schools to which I am applying; if the selection seems strange it is because UW is my real target and the rest are T1 schools that gave me fee waivers. Plus Seattle University.

I'm interested in opinions on where I will get in and which schools will offer money.

UW
Minnesota
Virginia
UCLA
WUSTL
Washington and Lee
William & Mary
Seattle University

Here are some that I was thinking about applying to but probably won't unless I can get a fee waiver:
Georgetown
Cornell
USC

Thoughts?

Do you have WE? Then NW is a good choice also.

You're right... I forgot about NW. But I'm only doing it if I can get a fee waiver.

Where would you like to work? UVA is a great school so I don't get why you wouldn't want to go there.

Just go to UW. No need to waste all those application fees.

I have waivers to all of them that I posted in the first list... and I'm honestly not sure I'm going to get in to UW anyway.

WUSTL will probably give you $$$ for that LSAT score. So would UIUC and a few other midwest schools trying to boost their LSAT medians.

I want to live in Washington forever, basically. I don't really want to leave Seattle.

Sucks that LSN has so little info on splitters.

List looks good. The splitter-friendly schools (WUSTL, Minnesota) will likely give you small but not-insubstantial scholarships (i.e. think ~$10k/year for WUSTL). Can't imagine you'd get turned down by UW, though you might want to apply to a few more peer schools for scholarship negotiation.

I know. I looked at the previous cycle for UW and there is basically no data for people with my numbers.

Thanks for the input. What others might you suggest? I'm too poor to waste application fees but I might be able to get waivers.

From looking at the numbers of people bit worse than you (but still huge splitters), it looks like you should be in.

It's really hard to predict splitters though...

You'll get into UW. If you don't get in there (which I highly doubt) take a full ride to Seattle U. No need to go to Minn or WUSTL if you know you want to be in Seattle.

There are about 55 reasons I can think of off the top of my head not to go to UVA. And I actually think it's refreshing for someone to not apply somewhere (where he/she has a chance) just for the sake of the app.

You blow the UW LSAT median out of the water, I highly doubt you will get declined especially if you are in state with ties to the area. If you apply to a couple of T14's and T1's that are LSAT whores, you should be able to leverage those acceptances and any subsequent scholarship offers at UW. As someone above said WUSTL is probably a good option since they love LSAT and will almost certainly give you a scholarship. Show that to UW and it can't hurt.

I wasn't going to say it because I thought people would tell me I'm insane, but this is actually my plan. I'm glad you said it.

A full ride in the place you want to work is not silly. Good luck! I hope you get into UW.

Thanks eit. I didn't recognize you at first without your avatar! I guess you're trying to be incognito. I don't blame you after that "Hey eit" thread.

Yeah, I'm avoiding that forum and going without an avatar. I don't know wtf happened there but it was uncool, lol.

I just saved you $1000 on applications (assuming you didn't already blow the money). You're welcome.

Good luck btw.. I'm sure you'll kill it in LS.

your improvement amazes me!
What did you do to achieve the 175: Adopt a new method of studying, read the Economist everyday, change your attitude? The reason being is that I have a 165 (retook after a 159), which initially brought some happiness to my life; now it appears that it'll result in many stinging rejection letters (gpa 3.24).
The 175 more than offsets your gpa for a lot of great schools.
