3.19/179 for lower end of T-14

Attended probably the best UG in TX (I'll let some of you fight it out over exactly what that is) and screwed around way too much in college. I'd love to say that my grades showed an upward trend, but the truth is that they started out stellar and moved down pretty much every year. What's more, I received mostly A's, except for the several classes I failed, which didn't help my average.

Been in the workforce 4 years now, most of my jobs not that impressive (service industry, clerical, etc.). What can I say, I was glad for any work at all. My softs aren't that extraordinary, just a little work for the local Democratic campaign office.

I almost fainted when I saw my LSATs, but I have to keep myself grounded with regards to my GPA and otherwise un-breathtaking credentials. Does anyone see me at, say, Michigan, UVA or Georgetown next year?

Also, how much should I read into all these fee waiver emails I keep getting?

Don't read into the fee waiver emails, they don't mean anything.

You definitely have a chance at MVP and Georgetown. You also have a slim outside shot at one of CCN (really just CN, since Columbia is pretty much out unless you're a URM). Splitter cycles are crazy unpredictable and the bigger your split is, the bigger risk you run of being shut out of the T14. If you really want Chicago or NYU and don't mind riding the waitlists, ED to one of them, get the rest of your applications out ASAP (and apply BROADLY) and enjoy the bumpy and unpredictable ride that is the splitter cycle. If you would be happy with MVP (which is your best shot), apply ED to your favorite. If you love all three equally, ED to one of M or P and, if they WL/reject you, ED to UVA.

You got a slight shot at NYU.

You'll get some of Mich, Penn and Virginia, but probably not all three. Write why X statements for all. You'll probably get Northwestern and Georgetown. Slim shots at Cornell and Duke.
