3.17/163

Please don't suggest a retake because a) I can't afford it and b) I had practiced for the 3 months for the Oct test and was PTing around 171. I think I am LSAT-challenged. I have given up on the LSAT.

Just let me know if I have a chance at the T20. I'd ideally like to apply to the coasts.

Thanks.

T20 is out. If you were PT'ing around 171, then you need to retake, period. That will get you into the T20.

Thanks for the honest advice guys. The more research I do the more I realize I'm doomed to a T4 school unless I retake.

Seton Hall sent me a fee waiver. Depressing.

You're not doomed to T4, but you still must retake.

This. It sounds like nerves got to you. Try taking more PTs under simulated conditions.

No shot at T20 or even T30, but you might squeak into schools like American, Villanova, Houston, or even Fordham PT.

:( Even T30? I was looking at Wisconsin-Madison because their LSAT 75th percentile is 163, although my GPA is below their 25th percentile (3.31). Is it a waste applying to Wisconsin Madison? I had thought of sending out some applications while preparing for my December retake.

If you can't afford to retake, then you definitely can't afford to go to law school with your current score.

If you were PT-ing around 171, you are not LSAT challenged. You just choked. Retake retake retake.

=) Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah, I came to the same conclusion as you did eventually (if I don't pay up now, I won't be able to pay up for law school).

What do you think my chances are at Wisconsin-Madison and schools in the 30s like Wake Forest, George Mason, and Washington & Lee? I wanted to send a few apps out this coming week while studying for December.

Have you looked into the fee-waiver for LSAC? That would certainly help allay some costs.

We have very similar numbers, I have scoured Law School Numbers and it looks like we both have pretty decent shots at schools like Northeastern, Temple, and both Rutgers campuses. I am confining my search to schools in the Northeast though. Law School Numbers could give you a good idea of where you stand at other coastal schools.

check out lsn and apply where you think you have the best shot. if you feel as though you can re create your pt average on the december test, take it and have an addendum ready to make your apps go complete. If you think december is not the best time ( finals or lack of focus) then sit this cycle out and take it in june.

best of luck
