GPA: 3.24
LSAT: 165
AA (I think that counts as URM)
I also have a few years of work experience (Still in Korea) and know Japanese and Korean. I'm hoping to get into a few T30/T40 law schools. I've really got my eyes set on BC. For location reasons I'm also interested in Fordham.

I don’t know what you are asking? Are you an idiot or trying to be controversial?
Either way retake the lsat.

AA=/=Asian American

Olivia, mind your manners.
But you're right about implying that I wasn't clear enough.

What are my chances at BC Law and Fordham with a 3.24 and 165 as a URM. I'm just assuming that being asian american counts as URM at most schools.

Bad assumption. Your chances are poor at both. HTH

A poor chance is still a chance. It's too bad that being asian american doesn't account for much.

Are you serious? No one's talking about whether it accounts for much. URM stands for under-represented minority, and Asian Americans surely are not under-represented in educational institutions.

Olivia does not have to mind manners, since you are basically spewing bullcrap. Being part Asian-American and part white means that you are probably overrepresented, not underrepresented. You will not get any kind of bump, which you would have found out with even a cursory forum search. Your chances as BC and Fordham are slim but not totally helpless, and I think that your work experience will not matter very much for these two schools.

I flippantly through the comment out there without thinking, so no, I wasn't being serious.

However, I'm not in the know about the extent to which law schools factor in being asian american, and I was hoping someone could inform me. Especially as to how it might affect my chances of getting into certain schools with my gpa and LSAT.

Thanks for the info.

Ok, so yo get it now, the asian urm boost is pretty good. You are aiming too low but be sure to write a diversity statement.

There is no asian boost, and the thread title is misleading. AA males as in African American would mean something totally different. I've never even seen an Asian person call themselves AA.

I made two big stinking assumptions today. The first was that AA is a term reserved not only for batteries and African Americans, but also for Asian Americans; and the second was that Asian Americans receive some kind of LSAT boost as well. My bad.
Live and learn!

Don't sweat the AA confusion.

I'm sure once you get to law school you'll see "real" AA students that are even more confused about their AA status.

Good luck.
