2.98 / 170 - loads of quality WE, ED?

there are a million of these out there, so I'll cut to the chase. I have six years of WE in a top 200 ad agency with three years as an executive with huge success. Just recently found out my GPA was 2.98 instead of the 3.13 I've been banking on.

So. Is it worth EDing somewhere at this point that is a reach (northwestern), or should I ED at a 15-20? Or just NOT ED anywhere and see where I land?

I'd be happy in the midwest long term. Also, I'm worried about regional schools as it would suck to get stuck in an area (like mountain west for example) without knowing if my family would like it, etc. So flexibility is a huge plus.

-Also is there any chance/worth in trying for UT - Austin? Like "why texas"ing my intention to stay there? What if I (gasp) moved there for a year and skipped the cycle to get residency?

I think texas likes the gpas, sounds like a huge risk. I dont know ed to UVA, NW, hard to say.

i would ED at northwastern snce you have good work experience.

Blanket the lower t14 and 2-3 saftey school in the WUSTL/fordham/emory range.

Def apply to Vandy too. They seem to like work experience too.

Since your GPA rounds up to 3.0, UVA ED is still in the equation. It's your call between that and Northwestern ED; Texas is likely out (resident or not).

Lets say, hypothetically, that I'd rather go to Minnesota then NW or UVA (want to end in midwest, have kids don't want to raise in chicago, etc.) Would it be of much benefit to ED to that sort of school? Specifically

Min, UWSTL, VANDY etc.? Or is the benefit negligible?

Also, any chance at Cornell?

ed at minn will prevent you from getting scholarship money.

Minnesota and WUSTL will see that LSAT and open their doors. Vandy not so much. I wouldn't be surprised if WUSTL gives you the standard splitter scholly ($10k/year).

i am a betting man because i dont have kids and there are always other options. i think a 2.98 and 170 is good enough for minnesota with $. you do a lot for their lsat median which is the harder median to get for a school. u should definitely pleasure LSAC cause they just took you from TTTT to t-25.

So it seems the common thought is I should apply to bottom T-14s (northwester, cornell, g-town) and to WUSTL, Min, Vandy, maybe GWU. Toss in some safeties. Not worth even applying to Michigan, etc.?

Anyone want to guess at my chances at northwestern with that 2.98, 170, tons of work exp?

So are you saying give up on Northwestern? Aren't I already too late to ED to gtown?

You'll get into UMN and WUSTL with a moderate scholarship. You can take that to the bank.

Well not really cause you'll still owe them a lot of money, but you get the idea.

One of my friends at GULC had a 3.29/172 and I'm pretty positive he was dinged or waitlisted at the rest of the T14. That's all I can tell you... maybe you have a shot at NU I can't be certain.
