During September, my PT average was a 173, across about 15 tests. Should I seriously consider retaking in December? I felt pretty great about the October test, but it seems I overestimated my performance significantly. I'd be pretty saddened to have it happen again that way.
Thanks for your help.

If you are averaging a 173, I would seriously consider a retake. You need to figure out why you scored 10 points below your PT average, and address it if you do retake. Don't just study in the same way.
If you really want those schools on your list you should retake. If you don't mind aiming slightly lower, you could keep your score. But it is unlikely you will get in to any of those schools with your current LSAT score.
