3.4/163 URM - Chances at T14?
Posted: Tue Oct 12, 2010 2:18 pm
I have very strong softs, rec letters, and have been out of school for about 5 years. What are my chances at T14, Tier 1 schools, and HYS? Thank you.

I'm going to amend what I said. Having reviewed LSN again, HYS is definitely possible and worth the application fee. It is by no means a guarantee as you could easily end up waitlisted or rejected at all 3. What exactly your softs are would be helpful to know and their strength would make HYS more or less likely depending. If you are afraid of striking out of the T6 then ED to whichever of Columbia, Chicago, or NYU that you like best, but if your softs really are strong I wouldn't. Apply to Yale and schools below it, as well as any safeties that you might like to go to on a large scholarship.bk187 wrote:Out at HYS. You definitely will most likely get some bites from the T14. If you want a T6 I feel like NYU ED would be your best shot though you will most likely get something like Michigan, Virginia, or NU.

It is definitely possible and worth the app fee. Strong softs make it even more likely. I'm too lazy to check lsn at the moment but it would be a huge mistake not to apply for either of you.s0ph1e2007 wrote:
I don't think that's accurate.
MAAAYYBBEEE Harvard, but not Yale and Stanford.
I'm a URM with 3.4 from HYSP and have a 173, expecting much higher on the Oct. LSAT, and I still don't think LSN supports me thinking I'll get into Stanford or Yale.
