3.5/172 chances for multiple schools

3.5 LSDAS GPA (higher degree GPA of 3.65)
Multiple LSAT scores 164 (Feb '10) and 172 (Jun '10)
Will have 5 years of WE in a legal related field (not law/paralegal) when I enter law school
I am applying to the following schools:
Stanford (I'm crazy here)
Columbia
Chicago
NYU
Penn
Michigan
UVA
Berkeley
Duke
Northwestern
Georgetown
UCLA
WUSTL
WUSTL is my "safety" at the moment, but I really wouldn't want to go there without a scholarship offer. How likely is it that i get dinged from all of the other schools?
I currently live in DC and would prefer GWU over WUSTL, but not over any of the other schools on my list. Is it worth the application fee to add GWU to the list so that I have a preferable safety?

MVP should be your targets. You have a chance at NYU and Chicago, but I don't think it's a really good one. You should be in at NU and GULC. I'd consider adding Cornell, Vanderbilt and UT, if you're looking to maximize scholarship offers. Add GWU if you have a strong desire to stay in D.C., but if I remember right they only offer full-rides to people who go ED.
There's a chance that you could get dinged at MVP as well as NU and GULC, but I don't think that result is too likely.

Not security guard, thanks for playing.
I understand all of the feedback except Duke, why wl/deny? Lsn doesn't look so bad around 172/3.5

Depends if you are 3.5x or 3.50 for Duke. If you are even 1/100th over 3.50 then your chances based on last year go up a lot. If you are 3.50 or 3.48 or something, then look at LSN and most got WLed.
There are only 6 green dots at 3.50 and down (non-URM) last year and 3 of those 6 had noticeably higher LSATs than you. I think WL is a reasonable prediction.
I bet you get into V WL/In at M and WLed at P too so those will be good options.

Don't know if this will be helpful, but... I had similar #s when applying in 2008 (for class of 2012), and these were my results:

Berkeley--waitlist
Duke--out
Northwestern--didn't apply
Georgetown--in

WUSTL--didn't apply
(I had a 3.5 from Harvard and 3 LSATs--high of 171, two 167s.)
(Added: Straight through but took a year off to work before ug and had tons of work experience during ug; applied late since I kept retaking the LSAT, haha.)

I had approximately those same numbers last year. I didn't retake the LSAT (not sure that makes much of a difference) and I went straight through from undergrad to law school.
Stanford --didn't apply
Columbia--waitlist
Chicago--in, attending
NYU--didn't apply
Penn--didn't apply (started the extra essay and just never finished it)
Michigan--waitlisted
UVA--in
Berkeley--didn't apply
Duke--didn't apply
Northwestern--waitlisted
Georgetown--in
UCLA--withdrawn before decision
WUSTL--in, tiny scholarship (30-ish thousand spread over three years)
It's extremely unlikely that you will end up at WUSTL unless you actually want to - you should get in elsewhere. I did apply to GW and got in, but didn't get much more than WUSTL's offer for scholarship money. Honestly, things would have to go drastically wrong (or drastically right with a good deal of money) for you to end up at those safeties.

I applied w/ very similar numbers and 5 years WE last year. Turned in all apps in late Oct/early Nov. Got WL'd at NYU and accepted at the schools you listed outside the T5.
Perfect your essays and get those apps in this month if possible! I have a feeling that things will be even more competitive this cycle. But with a strong app, I'm sure youll have options beyond WUSTL.
