Does ED at Fordam get me in with a 164/3.5 at top liberal arts school?

No shot, you're below both medians (3.64/166) at Fordham. You have a chance at PT (3.42/163).

Yeah, let's go on ahead and get the name of the school right before we start talking about attending. Sound good, chief?

1. No way. Your numbers are terrible for even the PT.

2. WHY on earth would you want to go there?

Yup, dem numbers is low. You can try and do the part time thing, or do the transfer thing. I wouldn't bet on either of them working out, but just chose either a school or program you feel cool with doing if you don't suddenly make top 5% of your class.

1. Because they cut the PT program in half after those numbers were reported.

2. My brother was waitlisted with a 164/3.9 last cycle.

Get a clue.

No offense man, but you do come off as a serious douche in all your posts. For someone that goes (or wants to go) to Columbia Law, its pretty sad that you attribute one applicants numbers to someone elses on the SOLE basis of whether they can get into the school. My buddy got into the PT program last year with a 160 and 3.3, and no he wasnt a URM or anything of that nature. Should I tell you to get a clue then?

To the OP, do you have solid work experience? If you do, then you have a legit shot at the PT program. Your numbers are still in range with their new reported numbers. The FT program might be a reach, so if you HAVE to go to that school, I would apply PT. Do your own research though and don't just listen to some of the clowns who post on this board. Everyone thinks their a genius hiding behind a keyboard.

Just to clarify, even if GPA and LSAT isn't the SOLE basis to getting into a school, it is 90% of it.

O I agree with this post totally, but you can't just take one person's numbers to someone else's and say that person HAS NO SHOT. Like I stated above, I gave you my friend's numbers, which proved that Columbia saying the OP has 'no shot' to be false. On top of that, the OP has numbers that are in the median range of Fordhams newly reported PT numbers, so I couldnt even tell you what Columbia was looking at.

I know quite a few people with similar numbers that were accepted to Fordham (not PT either) over the past two years, so I wouldn't listen to any of the nerds in here taking shots at you. Fordham is where I'm applying as well. Good luck.

I think Fordham is good at looking at what else you have to offer. I agree that your scores alone won't help much if you're coming straight from college for either PT or FT, but I had similar numbers + higher degree + WE and I was accepted EA in an earlier cycle. g/l

No body on this board looks at the facts. FORDHAM PT cut their program in HALF. Kids with 163's will no longer have a back door way in. Take it from someone who is a 3L AND has a brother who GOES THERE (was WAITLISTED with higher GPA than OP).

Say I'm a douche all you want but the 0L's on this board know a LOT less about the admissions process than I do.

I had a very similar situation to you last admissions cycle. Almost identical numbers, top undergrad school, and really wanted to go to Fordham. I applied early for FT and was waitlisted at the beginning of December. I did not receive an admissions offer until May 14th. So, while at the end of the day I did get in (and am attending FT), it certainly was not easy.

Look at this search from last year's cycle on LSN: http://fordham.lawschoolnumbers.com/app ... ,8&type=jd. For people with a combination of a 163-164 LSAT and 3.30-3.51 LSDAS GPA through the ENTIRE cycle, only 1 person is listed as gaining admission. I also got in, so there's at least 2 of us. Still, the numbers are against you.

Does that mean don't apply? No. If you really want to attend Fordham, go for it. You can also retake the LSAT and see if you can bump your score up a few points. As you can see, your chances at admission increase substantially if you score between 165 and 167 with your GPA: http://fordham.lawschoolnumbers.com/app ... ,8&type=jd

Good luck. You can PM me if you have any other questions about my specific experience.

FYI, I applied to Fordham PT last year on March 1st (deadline date). I had a 164/3.6. Was admitted. Don't listen to some of these guys. You've got a shot.
