OP is below median at UVA and GULC. That's pretty much a waste of an ED.bk187 wrote:UVa ED now definitely. There is a small chance that you won't get your UM ED back in time to make GULC's ED. So either UVa --> UM --> GULC, or UVa --> GULC.
There is a small chance at UVa. With 15 day or less turn around you don't think it's worth it to do that now and then UM afterwards?Desert Fox wrote:OP is below median at UVA and GULC. I'd ED at Mich, because there is somewhat of a chance.
Waste of application fees. UVA won't let a non URM in without being 170+ or 3.85+.bk187 wrote:There is a small chance at UVa. It's easier to get in, but they still protect their median. Though a 169/3.15 got in last year. But it was someone out of school for ten years.SHANbangs wrote:what about GULC part-time? Isn't it easier?
SHANbangs wrote:It says March 1st, so yes, I'm assuming so. Would applying later but still ED for GULC hurt my chances?
3.24 vs 3.35 probably won't change your strategy much. You're still above 3.0 but below 25th percentile, iirc.SHANbangs wrote:Well this changes things. My LSDAS GPA is actually a 3.24. I received my academic report today. I might try to change things by talking to them over the phone, but that's a losing battle. Anyways, with a 3.24, 169, is there any point in EDing to UM? I checked LS Predictor and my chances for ED GULC Part Time are still a "strong consider". Should I just run with that?
What's the unofficial cutoff at Michigan?im_blue wrote:I don't think it makes much difference whether you ED to Michigan or GULC PT, because your GPA is far below Michigan's unofficial cutoff, and you're below both medians at GULC (which matters even for PT since US News started using the entire class's numbers).
YesPerch wrote:I was rejected ED by UVA and am considering going ED to GULC but am worried about the wording on GULC's contract where it says "Finally, I understand that I may not apply to any other law schools under a similarly binding Early Decision process."
Does that just mean at the same time? Hard to tell.
Thanks.
