Just wondering what my chances are since I'm shooting for T14 with a less than stellar GPA (3.58) and a decent LSAT score (173). I'm a gay black woman (diversity cocktail!) with a background in psychology and counseling. I'm planning to study either family and juvenile law or mental health law/advocacy. Here's the list of my top picks:

~Chicago (dream school)
~Columbia
~NYU
~Boalt
~U Michigan
~Cornell
~U Penn
~UT Austin
~UCLA

So, what do you all think?

Especially considering your racial background, I'm thinking you really, really need to add YHS to that list.

Leaving the detailed analysis to other posters since URM chances aren't my specialty.

Add YHS, but if Chicago is your dream school I think you have a shot at getting a significant amount of money there. Good luck!

Chicago has a great mental health law clinic and I love the city, so getting a nice scholarship there would be sweeet. Though, to be honest, I haven't done much (if any) research on HYS, since I assumed that my GPA put them out of reach...

As you said before, your race and sexual orientation makes you a "diversity cocktail." That coupled with your impressive LSAT score gives you a chance at admission + $$$ at any law school. Carpet-bomb the T14 if you can.

Yup, being a black woman, with your stats, you are guaranteed admission to all the schools you listed. You have a very good chance at Harvard, Yale, and Stanford as well so I would consider that.
