Top Law Schools

Looking for something in NYC, or else Rutgers- Newark, Mason or Wake Forest. Maybe Villanova or Temple. What is reasonable for my numbers? Could I get scholarship $? Could I get into Fordham if Part Time?

Speaking only for Mason, you're a ding unless you're a URM, and Mason doesn't offer scholarships in 99.99% of cases.

Catholic or American might take you if you want DC area.

For wake you are probably wl/in with no money. too low of a gpa unfortunately.

No Wake.

Temple is possible based on LSN, but not a lock by any means. GPA seems too low for part-time Fordham. Money is very unlikely at any T1 school.

but, I got into fordham part time (this was based atleast partially on sheer persistence..applying super early and lots of communication with admissions + diversity) and I am at brooklyn law on a full scholarship right now, so if you apply early, youll have some options

but, I got into fordham part time (this was based atleast partially on sheer persistence..applying super early and lots of communication with admissions + diversity) and I am at brooklyn law on a full scholarship right now, so if you apply early, youll have some options

Im 2.85 from a TTT in sofla, got a hopeful 168 or 170 coming up in october. wondering if fordham would even be in the range with that score...

apply pt..thought I think w a 170, if you apply early, youll be good for ft too--just make sure your app is strong and u dont sound arrogant or jerkish or anything...theyve turned down a 176 for that

thinking of retaking in oct, but worried my score might end up going down since id only have a month to study. with practice tests ive gotten up to a 172, but would it be really bad if it went down on the second test?

You can only go up from there. Study study study.

ok i will retake. also im bipolar and not sure whether to mention it (whether they will be more understanding about my low GPA or whether they will think i cant handle law school/am crazy)

It wouldn't help to mention it in regards to your GPA, and could possibly hurt you in the eyes of whoever is reading your app. Right now there's nothing much you can do about your GPA so focus on knocking the LSAT out of the park.

With the scores I have what's the best I could do in nyc?

Anyway, they are overvaluing your LSAT and not weighting your GPA enough.

You have my exact numbers. The 2.85 will kill you. I applied last cycle (am a current 1L). PM me if you want more details/suggestions.

Temple PT is very do-able. They would have taken me if I was willing to do the evening program and my app was last minute.
However, both of the Rutgers schools will give $$$, are easy to get in-state at, and fit the markets that OP wants.
