3.56 GPA. What LSAT do I need for NYU?

NYU is probably going to be the highest ranked school that I'm going to apply to, so I would like to know what LSAT I should be shooting for in order to get likely admission.

I went to Brown, which doesn't technically calculate GPAs and doesn't do plus/minuses (which can cause big fluctuations in GPA either way, depending if you just got or missed an A). I figure law schools are going to calculate them anyway, so I calculated my own GPA. I was an International Relations major, studying Russian as a foreign language.

Thanks!

Shoot for a 180, then check back for your chances when you have a real score.

You'll need around 174 or better.
That's what I was thinking, and I am aiming for a 175.

Just to be clear, a 174+ is for a likely chance for acceptance, right? And not just for a chance, period?

To be honest, with a 174 and 3.56 I would put my money on waitlist. You are below the 25th percentile in GPA. Better than reverse splitting at least (which is what I did and got waitlisted). But certainly apply regardless. Its worth it to see if you can make it regardless of GPA.

And don't stress it until you have a real LSAT score. Worrying about your chances will just stress you on test day. You want a 180. That is all that matters. Once you get a score you can worry about where to send apps.

174 would definitely get you into waitlist territory. 175 I would say you have a decent shot of getting in. 176+ should be a very good shot.
