I took my first LSAT in 2007 with a 162 and my second in early 2009 with a 170. Would I be better off applying ED to NYU rather than Columbia?

Full brief..I graduated with a 3.78 GPA from U. Denver and with good internships during undergrad. I have been working as a corporate paralegal for the past 3 yrs.

I would say CLS. I think you have a good shot at getting into NYU via RD.

You may also want to consider not ED'ing if you preferred looking at scholarship offers from the lower T14.

I'm a little confused by this post, NYU says they average LSAT scores so CLS is better, but your chances at both are not that good. Your more likely to end up at PVMBD.

Really? Even assuming no averaging, a 170/3.78 doesn't have a great shot...

Maybe "good" was a stretch, I probably should have used a weaker word, but are you sure that they average? Though I agree that the OP is not too likely for the T6.

Am I "sure" they average? No. But that seems to be the common sentiment that NYU is one of the most legit about averaging or at least taken into account lower scores.

I don't know why everyone makes this so complicated. Think about it logically from the perspective of an admissions committee. Obviously you would always take into account a lower score. But you would also see that the person was able to score the higher score. You would take both into account. To the extent that US news matters only the higher score matters i think, since that is what they have to report.
