Ugh, I hate to be this person but the best option is to retake...have you thought about that?

Well...yeah, and you have a really solid GPA as a jumping off point. It would be different if you wanted to go to school and practice in a market that wasn't so ridiculously saturated and competitive.
I'm not a big prestige person, but if you're really looking at going to school in NY or DC, I'd study your butt off and knock that up to the higher 160s. Honestly, I think anyone who can get into the 160s can get anywhere in the 160s (at least) with some focus and drive. The amount of debt you'll gather in either city paired with the competition and sort of uh, shaky employment options out there just would scare the crap out of me.

Just because I think the LSAT is pretty learnable. Also, my knee-jerk reaction was mostly due to debt.
On the upside (and to my surprising knowing my friends' cycles this year) according to LSP, in terms of full-time programs you have chances at GW, Fordham, W&M, W&L and are considered an admit at American. On the part-time side, you have a good shot at Fordham and GW. Whoot.
Also, I'm sure you've heard this...but while its nice to study and explore international law, always keep your feet on the ground for what that area of law materializes as in the real world.

If you can get your LSAT up 4 points, you would be an admit at GW as long as you have decent softs.

yes i guess retaking is the way to go, i just need to have some sort of strategy that i was probably missing in the first round, and i have def heard the bit about intl law and I am very realistic about where it goes esp. given the debt that I would incur at those schools in ny and dc
Also considering waiting a couple of years to get some money in the bank and improve score....?
