Are you a NC resident? If so UNC is probably doable considering I got in with slightly lower numbers. If not the outlook is not as good.fmlsat wrote:opinion page editor for my university's newspaper, idk if that counts for anything (guessing not), internships every summer (i.e. radio station, local bar association)...what are my chances at:

W&M--Maybe if you apply really early. Probably not. I had 3.6/164 and got the WL.fmlsat wrote:opinion page editor for my university's newspaper, idk if that counts for anything (guessing not), internships every summer (i.e. radio station, local bar association)...what are my chances at:

I also suspect that Tulane and SMU are the only likely direct admits. I would be kind of surprised if you got more than a little bit of money offered (if any) from Tulane, but I really don't know what type of money offers they typically give. Like other posters have shared, I think you could get some waitlists for a couple of the other schools- have no idea how likely it would be you'd get eventual admission.
As is typical advice for someone looking at regional schools, considering where you would like to live and work after you graduate should have some bearing on your decision since your best employment options coming from these schools is likely going to be in the region they are in.

Re: 3.5 GPA, 164 LSAT, chances??
I had good feelings from W&L about the waitlist and getting off of it after my visit there. I feel as if I probably could have.
However, SMU was offering almost 60% tuition, and W&L would have been at sticker, so I withdrew.

Yeah W&L at sticker is not attractive to me ITE. I withdrew off the WL because of it.kalvano wrote:I had good feelings from W&L about the waitlist and getting off of it after my visit there. I feel as if I probably could have.

this is the dumbest thing ever and I can't believe I'm posting it here, but I'd rather not go to wake because someone I was, ahem, involved with, is going there...any suggestions for similar schools where I may have similar chances?

Making a massive life decision based on avoiding an ex is...fmlsat wrote:this is the dumbest thing ever and I can't believe I'm posting it here, but I'd rather not go to wake because someone I was, ahem, involved with, is going there...any suggestions for similar schools where I may have similar chances?

Re: 3.5 GPA, 164 LSAT, chances??
He may have a point Credited... Wake has only 150 or so in each class. Would be a little difficult to avoid the ex, and if they're in the same section it might be brutal. Coming from someone who had a similar situation in UG with 900 in each class, its damn hard to avoid them for some reason... Like karma wants us to see our ex's everywhere. Then again, who knows, maybe you two can patch things up and at least be civil.
OP, if Wake seems like a stretch, I'd throw Florida, Georgia, and Maryland into the mix. Seems like you're looking Southeast as it is. If you want to check out other regions, I'd try Wisconsin, Colorado, and ASU
Good luck
