Can I get into Stanford?

I have a 3.6 in Chemical Engineering (B.S.; 3.7 M.S.) from a pretty good tech school, and a 172 on the LSAT. I heard Stanford was really region-specific, and since I grew up in New England and went to school at a medium-sized tech school in Massachusetts that nobody west of the Mississippi has probably heard of, I am concerned about admissions prospects. Plus, I want to work in Boston after graduation, can going to Stanford do that? People told me that a west coast school is going to relegate me to the West Coast but Stanford is a really good IP school so I want to take advantage of that, but not if it is going to confine me to the likes of California.

Is there a similar law school on the East Coast like Stanford in terms of law specialty and stuff?

Stanford is out of your reach with that GPA anyway.

You are more than likely out at Stanford and harvard with a 3.6/172.

But you should apply widely and worry about decisions after acceptances

Harvard is Harvard, who gives a shit about the IP program? << And yes I am an engineer planning on going into IP but I would not pass up Harvard for a specific school's IP program or any other speciality

Except maybe Yale and thats still a big maybe for me.

Every school is decent enough at IP now for it to be a non-factor for 90% of students with that interest. OP's sure bets top out at NYU and Berkeley, and I'd probably take NYU over Berk, or maybe someplace like UVA or Duke if there's money available.

OP would prob have to ED to get NYU. And I'd say Berk is out

maybe. either way, "strength of IP program" doesn't really matter.

I don't think so but I can see you getting into a lower T14 easily with those stats (MVPDCNG)..you might be able to get into Chicago or NYU with an ED app.
