this is essentially a follow-up to an earlier post "3.42 UGPA and 169 june 2010 lsat.......wheres the money?" but now ive been thinking "what if i could raise my score into the 170s......"
my score of 169 was a personal best but i am only working part time this summer and could conceivably put the time in to improve, i really did like studying for the LSAT.
i know every extra point counts so would the risk of possibly scoring 165-167 the 2nd time (what i was averaging) be outweighed by the possibly benefits??

If you were averaging below 169, I would personally take that 169 and run. Unless you're sure you can improve. As it is you'll definitely get money in the T30 with those numbers, and have a shot at the T20 and lower T14.

Yea dude, I got a 166 after Pting at 162-164 and I'm sticking with it. Although most people on this site recommend retaking until you get into the 170s if thats the best you feel you can do, just take the 169. Congrats on the score btw!

OP: if you really enjoy studying that much, then start it up again. Take enough PTs to get a decent sample, calculate your average, and compare it to 169. If it's equal to or greater, retake away. If it's not, then ya might not want to gift-horse mouth-look.

You should retake if you think you can bring your score up.
My predictions with your stats
Waitlist: Penn, Michigan, UVA, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, Georgetown
Reject: Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Chicago, NYU, UC-Berkeley
I think the best shot you have at a T14 is Cornell.
