double major and also honors thesis
ibank summer work experience
realistic shot at harvard or stanford if i apply right at the beginning of the cycle?
enough of shot to warrant not applying ed to columbia?

what are your "good softs?"

id really prefer not to--im not even sure id do better, i burned out terribly before the test, my last three PTs were 164, 166, 165--i almost went in with the expectation of cancelling

should i take a practice test or two in early september and see?

Sure you have a shot at all the schools you would like. Maybe not the best shot but still enough that you should try. The earlier the better.

harvard isn't happening with a 171. are you URM?

god forbid you ed Columbia and get in. Worst case you go there for a year do well and transfer to HS.

You're in a tough spot man.

I kinda think you will get into Columb without EDing, but there's def a good chance you get waitlisted. As far as HS are concerned, you probably won't get in, but you have a tiny chance.

Ok so you knew all this already. If I were you, I would not ED to Columb, and just blanket the T10. There's always a shot you could get Harvard

Your T20 and good softs give you a realistic shot at S, but you have no shot at H.

Why Harvard? Why not like...Columbia?

It is going to be really difficult for me to attend Columbia. It is going to cost so much more to move to NYC, and I am not even sure if I can stand living there for 3 more years. Commuting is possible but very hard. Columbia and NYU are probably going to be hard to choose over Penn. I think HYS will help me justify paying sticker and moving the family, otherwise staying at Penn is probably the most practical choice if I can get some money.
