168/3.78.. what are my chances?

Hey everyone,
I'm a first-time poster, and I'm wondering what my chances are at T-14 schools. 168 on my LSAT and 3.78 UGPA. These are the schools I am planning on applying to:
ED at Duke
Cornell
Georgetown
UVA
Penn
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
GW
UNC
Michigan (possibly)
I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Duke ED is a good call. Your best shots in the T-14 otherwise will be Cornell, Michigan and Georgetown.
No chance at UVA unless you're in-state -- you're below both medians. Also Northwestern would be maybe (still not likely) if you have work experience, no chance if you don't.
If I were you, I'd throw in a few more safeties, such as WUSTL, Notre Dame, BU/BC. If you get shut out of the T14 -- a possibility -- you'll at least have some $$ offers from T20-T30 type schools.

Thanks for your help! I will definitely apply to Michigan, add WashU, and probably take out UVA since I'm not in-state (though I might keep it as a reach). Does anyone know what my chances are applying ED to Duke? Maybe someone who had similar numbers? Law school predictor says strong consider so I'm hopeful..

This was two years ago, but I had similar numbers to you and I got $ from UVA. I'd still apply.

Is the Top 5 public that you attend UMich? If so, and you're a rising senior, I'd maybe apply for the Wolverine Scholars program for UMich law...

I feel like I've read on here 100 times that UVA doesn't take people who are below both medians, even ED. Is that not true?

ED at UVA is not gonna help. Below both medians.
Same LSAT, hair lower GPA
Duke - WL
UVA - WL
Texas - in, $$
Vandy - in, $$
Emory - in, $$
Got about the same half-tuition ish at Texas, Vandy, and Emory. You should also apply to GULC, Michigan, Cornell. And maybe a few other safeties in a region you want to end up (WUSTL and GW are good).
I'm a pretty firm believer in only HYSCCN being worth the full cost. I don't know what your monetary situation or if you subscribe to that "T14 or bust" nonsense. If you've got "money to blow," I'd ED somewhere. If not, you're getting a lot of money at T20-ish.

Thanks, do you think an ED at UVA is more helpful than an ED at Duke? I'd actually much rather go to Duke bc I already live in NC and would like to stay for law school. I was expecting this LSAT score (169 was my average), and I'm scared that it will drop if I retake, so that's not really an option for me.

ED at UVA is not going to be helpful because you are below both medians. Duke it might help.
If you've got school, etc. going on, not retaking is understandable. 1 point off your PT average is expected. If you're out of school, I'd consider a retake if you think you can do better.

Well Duke is definitely my top choice, so to me it is worth the money. I'm pretty sure I'll be EDing there and hopefully that will give me the extra boost I need to get in. It's nice to know about the possible scholarship offers if Duke doesn't work out though!
