LSAT 168 / GPA 3.92 (Want UPenn)

Title gives my numbers. I have a few softs (e.g. research, clubs, presentations, volunteer work).

The school I am mainly interested in is UPenn.

I am thinking about EDing to it. What are my chances with ED?

I know I am above 75th GPA and above 25th but below 50th in LSAT.

Also, any insight into if UPenn is worth sticker?

Thanks.

NYU, Penn, GULC are all off the table with your LSAT, unless you're a URM. ED won't help your chances at all at these schools.

If you ED at Cornell or Vandy you have a strong chance, but still no where near guaranteed.

You should be a shoe in at BU/BC though.

You really think Penn is off the table?

Law school predictor says I am a strong consider. Does only admit on the law school predictor mean anything?

If you don't crack 170 I think your chances are pretty low. I'd recommend writing the hell out of their optional essays and really conveying to them that UPenn is your first choice. I'd also ED if that's an option there. With all that, I'd say you have about 25-35% chance.

I think the schools that are more likely for you are UCLA-Vandy.

Not really sure you know what you are talking about. Cornell does not have ED, they have early action, which is non-binding and you usually need stronger numbers than the regular applicant pool. Usually ED gives you a little cushion, but you usually end up paying sticker. I think Penn is possible, do not know about the others.

There is a debate on another thread as to whehter Penn is worth sticker.

If interested, you should also try Michigan.

You're right, I have no idea what those schools offer in terms of ED/EA etc. Mostly because I was more concerned with other schools during my cycle last year. OP just asked if that'd help his/her chances so I lumped those all together and stated that such an option would help.

I disagree. I think you have a pretty good chance at UPenn...

You're around the LSAT median with a GPA above the 75%ile....Definitely write all the optional essays but you shouldn't necessarily be bracing yourself for disappointment.

Oh ya, definitely apply and give the app your all. I'd still say you're lower than a 50% chance, but your not completely out. Sorry, my first post probably was overly negative.

:? I think you've got a decent shot at UPenn. LSN has everyone with your stats waitlisted or admitted. If Penn doesn't work out, I'd be shocked if you didn't get in one, if not all, of MVB.

Oh ya, Boalt is a great place for you to apply. They love people with your numbers.

This. Penn's a good shot with ED, and I think you've got a similar shot RD at Michigan or Boalt. Write the extra essays (or lengthen your Boalt one to show interest) and good luck!

Your a perfect fit for Boalt, and a fairly good fit for Michigan (peer schools to Penn). Why not try those? Penn is a little bit more LSAT-focused. I'm not sure an ed at any school is such a good idea with your numbers. If you apply to MVPB, you'll likely get in to at least one. But you might find yourself at or above Boalt's and Michigan's median LSAT, and above their median GPA's. That could put you into good scholly territory. Good luck.

Cornell is basically a guarantee unless OP is a sex offender.

Isn't Boalt very picky with their admissions?

Probably in at Vandy without ED.

Ya I agree. I really don't know why my original reply was so negative, it shouldn't have been. 3.92 is a very impressive GPA. If you could get that LSAT up about 4 points I think you'd grab at lease one CCN. 6 points and you could probably start knocking on the door of HYS.

Atrocious advice by JWicker. Penn is a reach and a GULC is a quasi-target/reach. And Cornell and Vanderbilt are practically auto-admit. I got into Cornell with a 168/3.75 and got 60k from Vanderbilt. Rad Law got even more than that with similar numbers.

Please do not dispense terrible advice. K thx bai.
