You are fucking with us, but everywhere but Yale and Stanford, at those schools you merely have a good shot.dadengcrew wrote:I wasn't trying to brag, but since it is going to be tough admissions year, I wanted a realistic assessment. I only mentioned my school because I'm not sure if law admissions takes into account where you went to undergrad.
I wanted to know if my softs have the possibility of pushing me into HYS.
As for ROTC, I'm trying to decide whether I should commission into the active duty Army or request an educational delay to attend law school first. Where I could get in would be a factor in this decision.

In all honesty, you're a lock everywhere but YLS (aside from the schools that YP you). You seem to have decent enough softs for SLS, but to be honest, I didn't read the OP.

It doesn't.dadengcrew wrote:I only mentioned my school because I'm not sure if law admissions takes into account where you went to undergrad.
Here is your list of schools you're going to apply to:
Yale
Harvard
Stanford
NYU
Columbia
Chicago
You want to go to school for free? Apply to a couple of these:
Berkeley
Penn
Michigan
Northwestern
UVA
Duke
Do not apply to any school not on this list.
Schools actually love ROTC/members of the military (especially if you've served abroad). I don't know what ideal career track you're looking at, but you are going to have a ton of options.dadengcrew wrote:As for ROTC, I'm trying to decide whether I should commission into the active duty Army or request an educational delay to attend law school first.
PM me if you have any questions.

A prominent poster here who is going to a T14 school actually did two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and he said it had absolutely no effect on his cycle whatsoever. So take that as you will.

Lol. Placing NYU above Columbia and Chicago on the list was unintentional-my bad.D Brooks wrote:Egregious NYU trolling.NU_Jet55 wrote:It doesn't.dadengcrew wrote:I only mentioned my school because I'm not sure if law admissions takes into account where you went to undergrad.

Regarding military service, I guess I should rephrase my previous comments to say that-in the past-it has been shown to help certain applicants, just like any other soft that will enable the applicant to "contribute to the diversity of the law school atmosphere."
Having ROTC on your resume is definitely not a bad thing, but it is also not a free pass to YLS.

I don't even think olympic gold medals and nobel peace prizes are free passes to YLS. They just put 3.9+/176+ applicants in a hat and choose randomly.NU_Jet55 wrote:Lol. NU is full of Ivy rejects, while WUSTL is full of Ivy+NU rejects.Desert Fox wrote:I assume its full of kids from the east, who couldn't get Ivy?
