Hi all,
Got an unique situation (average academic record from good schools, strong work experience):
UGPA - Indiana U, 3.09
Masters in Science - U. of Washington, 3.12
LSAT - 155
Work Experience - 10 years at fortune 100 companies
What are my chances for -
Stanford
Northwestern
UC Hastings
Santa Clara
UCLA
USC

There doesn't seem to be anything unique up there.

The 10 yrs of experience would only help if you were moderately qualified in the first place with either a high GPA or a high LSAT. You don't fit into either category.

you won't even get santa clara with those numbers. work experience isn't that unique and still only counts as a soft. that 3.09/155 is ugly. Get a 170 and ED to Northwestern.

Really not unique at all.
Go to business school if you want to be a special snowflake.
Or, retake the LSAT.

Not so unique...
But with that said, Northwestern looks VERY favorably on work experience. If those are the schools you're set on, I agree with a post above... retake the LSAT (ideally 170+) and ED to NU.
Good luck!

Good experience + a good GMAT score can get you into a good B school.
If you're set on law, retake. You need a minimum of 162 to get you into ANY of those schools. If you can swing a 170, ED to Northwestern. They love work experience and love ED. That should mitigate your GPA.

I would say I'm in the same boat, minus the masters and 10 years work experience. I have 4 years work experience and a long gap between years 1-3 and 4 which I just finished up. I'm banking that a 3.9 my last year and a half will mitigate the first 3 years and help my chances on jumping up a few spots. To do so, I need at least a 170. I'd say you and I both have a lot of work to do.
Good luck. I appreciate all the the advice regarding NW as well. I loathe the idea of moving back to the midwest, but Chicago is a nice area I hear.... says Kanye..

If you have your job at these fortune 100 companies, just keep working and don't do law.

Why do you want to be a lawyer?
