I'm a AA/Hispanic female, neuroscience major from top 10 liberal arts college. My gpa is subpar because my mother died unexpectedly my sophomore year (only child, had to take care of my father, etc.). With the exception of that one semester my grades have steadily improved though. My gpa is average for my major, but below average for my college (since few people are science majors). I've been working for the past two years at NGOs and legal advocacy organizations throughout Cambodia.

I wanna go into public interest law (though am considering patent law). My first choice is GWU since I'd like to be in DC. I also like ... BC, Hastings, Iowa, UNC, Emory, Cardozo, AU, WUSL, Temple, Brooklyn, Fordham, IU-Bloomington, Northwestern and Columbia (both parents went there so have to apply).

I've checked lawschoolnumber, but just wanted a personal touch. Any advice on how I could improve my chances would be much appreciated!

Thanks for your input!

A few years work experience, especially in a non-profit, would really help. It'd also likely help in interviewing for jobs once in law school.

Also, improving the LSAT even a few points would greatly increase your chances at a higher caliber of school, and likely provide scholarship offers to some of the schools you have listed.

You will more than likely get into every school you listed.
