Top Law Schools

can anyone give me advice on what schools favor LSAT over GPA? I have stong (168) lsat but a pretty weak GPA (2.87). I am just wondering if there are certain schools (besides the obvious) I should rule out, and schools I should be considering. I am prettyopen about where I want to goto school,although I would prefer Northeast

midwest schools love splitters. WUSTL, IUB, UIUC, Minn. 168 is too low to have a chance at V, NU, or GULC. You could apply to BU and BC, but BC is a gpa whore and BU hates going below 3.0. With a 172 you'd have a chance there. Just apply to any schools that interest you between 15-50 and hope someone bites.

It's going to be hard to make it to the top.
This may be too pessimistic but my thoughts.

There are a bunch of places you shouldn't even bother applying to.

Vanderbilt
USC
Boston University
Emory
Minnesota
Notre Dame
Boston College
Brigham Young

These schools are either GPA whores or will consider the 168 LSAT to be too low.
I'd make Wash U your top choice.

I agree that Wash U should be a top choice of his, but Minnesota should definitely also be up there on his list with it. I don't know why you'd tell him to "not even bother." Look at LSN:
