if you are not URM, you are going to have to do better than 173 to have even a slim shot at HYS and Columbia for sure

Whatever. They're in at cornell, usc, ucla, georgetown, fordham and Loyola if they apply early. Might as well send out a few reaches to columbia, nyu, and boalt. And if you could get into T6 and you don't try for hys, you might regret it.

They were saying what they think they should say. Most likely you will be judged with the 3.2, maybe a slight nudge for the working. I wouldn't bank on being credited with a much higher GPA. It may help, but most likely not that much.

Uhhhh. Native American will get you a hefty URM boost. Claim it. (even if you don't think of yourself as NA). Good luck! Sincerely hope your hard work pays off.

will i need to get papers to prove this? because if i do i will get on that asap. would it be sufficient to just check the american indian box on the application? how exactly does one claim urm?

to claim American Indian you need one of two things:
1) Substantial life experience affected by your identity as an Native American... i.e. involvement with tribes, family members who recognize your heritage, or significant blood percentage.
2) Card/ papers verifying your membership in a Native American tribe.

Im sorry but unless he ED's at Georgetown, he is out everywhere he listed except loyola. You might have a chance at Fordham or Cornell, but those are slim. No chance at Berkeley or any of the T6. Not even close to a chance at UCLA and USC because they like higher GPAs. Try EDing at UVA, Michigan, or Georgetown next year for your best chances.

You're out at HYS, NYU, and Berkeley for sure. And in for sure at Fordham and Loyola. If you do end up identifying as URM, I think you've got a pretty good shot everywhere in between; if not, I'd expect a lot of waitlists.

If you are a urm you'll need about 173 to have a slim shot a HYSC.
If you aren't a urm you are automatically out at HYSCCN because of your gpa.

if i can get my american indian papers taken care of by septemeber, i will be. how much will that effect my chances?
if i could get my lsat up how much would i need to with and without urm status?
also, just curious, what is the basis for your opinions? lsn? lsp? i'm asking everyone lol
if you have your American Indian papers you will probably go up to ~85%+ chance for CCN, and ~65%+ for HYS... also no need to retake the LSAT
If you don't have AI status, even with a 177+ you still would be out at HYS, maybe 30~50% at CCN.
