I think by taking the test cold people usually mean never having done a single practice problem. If you actually took the real test cold that seems like a pretty stupid decision and waste of money.Jrep37 wrote:I am a 21 year old Urm male grad in may. Graduating a year early. Double majored In economics and international affairs with a religion minor. Took the LSAT cold dec 5 and planned on retaking in feb after prep but ended up missing it with strep. Should I wait a year and apply then or dive in now. Originally wanted to stay at UGA or go to OSU but looking at my numbers I figured Hawaii law or Howard would be more feasible. Any advice? What are my chances. Any other schools I might have a chance at? Thanks!
Taking the LSAT cold is more stupid than getting a 149. Retake in June and study your ass off and go to your dream school.Jrep37 wrote:I am a 21 year old Urm male grad in may. I think he meant that he took the actual LSAT on dec. 5 cold. Very very...very bad decision, you should go study first for a few months or however long it takes...is this flame?Drew2010 wrote:I think by taking the test cold people usually mean never having done a single practice problem. Not necessarily good softs, just FYI. Not much is going to help you with a 149. Retake and try in September.Jrep37 wrote:Also have pretty good sifts IMO. Was a part of a minority recruitment program for the university bringing in almost 100 urms to the university and was also a member of the football team for 2 years
Don't retake in Feb, get study materials, logic games bible, old tests etc., maybe even take a prep course and take it again in June or Oct., don't rush it.Jrep37 wrote:yea I realized going in blind wasn't the best decision but I Decided on law school pretty late in the game and wanted to set a base line for myself as I planned on retaking it in feb

No, I wouldn't, its to late in the cycle anyway and if you got a 149 cold I imagine you could do better if you study, and it would be worth it.Jrep37 wrote:So I shouldn't even bother applying this cycle?
With intensive study you can likely get up to 160. You're screwing yourself over by going to schools that will take your 149; wait a year, study hard, retake the LSAT, and get into some much better schools next cycle.Jrep37 wrote:I am a 21 year old Urm male grad in may.
