I never did one of these!
166 sept (off a 159 in June). 3.87 LSAD GPA from a southern liberal arts college. Good softs, strong LORs, GLBT (if that matters at all  ), applied to:

Berkeley
Duke
Virginia
Cornell
Georgetown
UCLA
Vanderbilt
USC
WUSTL
UMN
BU
ND
BC
GWU
Fordham
UF

I recall you saying before that we are numbers twins... and we pretty much are.
Good luck! I have no clue where you will get into, except that you are a probable for most schools at USC down.

Always curious to know, aside from the CA love you're showing, what is your most desired area to live in? You have a pretty big scatter shot going on towards the bottom of the list...

If I break into UCLA or higher, I'll go there. If not, I'm interested in BU/BC, but I need money if I'm going to get in. The idea was if I can get an offer out of ND or MN I can use it to bargain. Also, I'm not really sure where I want to go, I've never left the south-east in my life. So I applied to diverse schools, and I plan on road-tripping it. I'm floridian, and if I don't get money from the 20-15 range or don't get into the T-14, I can go to UF almost free.

Berkeley - out
Duke - out
Virginia - small chance
Cornell - good chance
Georgetown - out
UCLA - out
Vanderbilt - out
USC - 50%
WUSTL - in
BU - in, possibly with some money
BC - in, possibly with significant money

If you're willing to pay sticker, you should really consider Virginia ED.

I've considered this, however-- Cornell has and always will be my dream school (begin Cornell hate now). So while ED UVA would be my best shot, I think I have a 50-60% chance at Cornell. I feel like I have to take that, it's why I didn't ED

Fwiw, when I applied I didn't really consider attending UVA because it's in the South. North >>> South.

Begin Southern hate. LOL.

You have a decent shot at Cornell.

If your softs really are good, I think you should at least stand a chance at Berkeley.

There's a chance, but not a good one.

In that range it really comes down to quality of PS. With OP's somewhat unique backstory/life experiences, if he is a good writer he may be able to swing it with those stats. Berkeley loves a good PS.

I wrote a 3 pager for berkeley, couldn't do the 4---it kind of reached its logical conclusion.

I don't know if its genuine or not, but on my GWU and BU acceptances, both had little "damn fine PS" comments. Whether or not thats a stock comment or not, I don't know.

Berkeley places a huge emphasis on applying early, according to the profile / dean, so that probably won't help your chances there....
