Can anyone chime in on or give their opinion on how accurate you would say lawschoolpredictor.com is???

Re: What are my odds?
compared to LSN, it isn't accurate at all for me. I'm a mid-number splitter (3.1/163) and it seems like it gives me denies at places I have a shot, and "consider" at places I don't, again-when compared to LSN.bmercado wrote:Can anyone chime in on or give their opinion on how accurate you would say lawschoolpredictor.com is???

its a good starting point for a lot of people to see what school ranges to look at, but then you should dig deeper and look at applicants on LSN to see how people actually didbmercado wrote:Can anyone chime in on or give their opinion on how accurate you would say lawschoolpredictor.com is???

Re: What are my odds?
agreed. I think LSP is better for people who aren't splitters at all. Like for me, LSP says I won't get into Tennessee... but according to LSN it should be a pretty solid acceptance. I trust LSN more because it's actual applicants/data (assuming people don't lie) and LSP is more of plugging into a formula that has been made.capitalacq wrote:its a good starting point for a lot of people to see what school ranges to look at, but then you should dig deeper and look at applicants on LSN to see how people actually didbmercado wrote:Can anyone chime in on or give their opinion on how accurate you would say lawschoolpredictor.com is???

If you clowns need to ask on a website like this what your chances are - you should probably go back to flipping burgers....

It depends. For me, based on the statistics, I was supposed to be an automatic reject at some of the schools I got accepted to but I got in. Soft factors help a lot!!!!

Re: What are my odds?
LSAT: 162
GPA: 3.75 from liberal arts college
Experience as a grassroots community organizer, and now as a legal assistant.
Spanish speaking (second language) - does this help?
Chances at:
BU, Vanderbilt, University of Washington, GW, Fordham
My score is lower but the GPA is higher and I am wondering if this will help at all??
Thank you!

Re: What are my odds?
You have a good GPA, so you should prob retake and up your LSAT a little more. From the knowledge I have gathered, a high LSAT score is much more valuable than a high GPA.
On LSP you're at consider for GW/Wash/Fordham so who knows! Vandy and BU are probably a no. It seems that for schools of this caliber a 165+ is definitly the way to go. Maybe even higher.

Re: What are my odds?
Hmm, ok, here goes...
LSAT: 167
GPA: 3.53 (should go up slightly after fall semester, I graduate in Dec)
Softs: I really don't know what law schools consider 'good' softs, but I worked 40+ hours a week the entire time of my undergrad in Escrow, Management, and another unique field.
BA in finance, minor in theatre. State school.
I KNOW some of these are long shots, but I figured I'd give my extensive list, and then trim down. I have fee waivers for the ones with + signs, so I figure I'll apply there either way...
Also, if there are any suggestions for places I might be a good fit with my numbers, I'd appreciate them
Cornell
USC
Minnesota+
Northwestern
William and Mary+
Vanderbilt
Lewis and Clark+
U of Utah+
George Washington+
Cincinnati+
Seton Hall+
U of Richmond+

Interesting, I never thought about it that way, and it's a completely new idea to me.
The scenario you talk about seems kind of sectarian to me, with people only getting their information only from the sources that reflect their own views.

i don't really know what you need to be waitlisted, so i'm just going to put in accept/either straight or after WL or deny the same.Pink wrote:Hmm, ok, here goes...

Haven't yet been through the cycle so I don't personally know, but I would add a couple more safeties if I were you. OSU is the only school on that list that I would say you're very likely to be accepted.ivyhopeful56 wrote:3.75 GPA
