I have a really strong explanation for the GPA (was sexually assaulted by my chem TA) and am very involved at BU (which is also notorious for grade deflation). I applied to 16 schools thus far. They are:
-BU
-BC
-Georgetown
-Vanderbilt
-UMiami
-Northeastern
-New England School of Law
-Western New England College
-Suffolk
-Roger Williams
-Quinnipiac
-Temple
-North Carolina Central
-Wake Forest
-U South Carolina
-Georgia State
Two questions: What do you think my chances are at the schools I applied to? I was considering applying to UPenn, UNC Chapel Hill, and Emory. I know that they are reaches. Is it a waste of my money to apply this late in the game?

You have virtually no chance at Upenn, Emory, and UNC. Can you retake? That GPA is just too low with that LSAT score.

-BU - Nope, just for LSAT
-BC - See Above
-Georgetown -Out
-Vanderbilt - Out
-UMiami - WL/In

-New England School of Law - In
-Western New England College - In, but why go here?

-Quinnipiac - In
-Temple - Out
-North Carolina Central - Why? But In.
-Wake Forest - Out
-U South Carolina - WL/In
-Georgia State - WL/Out

No chance at the other three either, unless you are a minority. I think you need to research the LSAT medians and GPA medians (and 25ths) of schools. I gave you a 3.20 GPA instead of a 3.08 because of your addendum (which is probably generous despite the genuinely traumatic nature of your experience), though maybe some schools will compensate significantly more. However, some of the schools you applied to are no shot at all just because of your LSAT. If you had a 4.0, some of those schools likely still wouldn't touch you.

Sorry everyone. FWIW, I'm a URM (South American). What about UFlorida or UGeorgia?

Even as an URM I'm fairly certain BC/BU/Upenn/Emory/UNC/G-Town/Vandy are all out. Could be wrong tho? Check LSN-- lawschoolnumbers.com

This won't give you much of a boost. Black, American Indian, and Mexican or Puerto Rican are the main URMs. Though Hispanic, you won't be given the URM boost that LSP shows.
