I feel like TLSers need to have some kind of secret code to identify themselves. Secret handshake? But one that doesn't make us look retarded in front of regular people. :P

Or maybe we could do a TLS dinner a la Michigan?

And I just checked out the weather and it's supposed to be raining the entire time we're there. I frown upon this.

I am going to try to drive down from NY Thursday and go to the bowling/karaoke, stay over and check out the school Friday. I won't be there Friday night but I might drive back on Saturday morning for the rest of the festivities. Any other people in their late-20s/early-30s headed there? It would be nice not to feel like the oldest man on campus :)

I'm 30, and I'll be there. From the ASWs I've been to, it seems to bother me more than everyone else. I'm trying to get over it and not make a big deal of it.

So, what do people think? Was anybody impressed with the pool of the admitted applicants?

I was muchly impressed with applicants. Lol at being the underachieving-still-in-UG!kid.

I don't think I met any TLS-ers though. :( I met one kid who said "biglaw" but he said he heard the term at the law firm where he works...

I love everyone I've met so far. Wasn't "wowed" by the school (it's really nice, but not knocked on my ass or anything), but I have been "wowed" by my interactions with the 1Ls and 0Ls. I think I could really be happy at Penn and get everything I want out of my experience in law school.

I agree with a lot of what has been said, especially about the other admitted students being very impressive. The clinical/pro bono presentation was by far the most professional of the different events. Career opportunties also seem very good, especially with the new emphasis on clerkships. The current student panel was probably the least informative for me.

The facilities were very mixed, but it seemed like they don't use that big room very much anymore. The classrooms upstairs were the nicest I have seen anywhere.

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

I agree, the dude that did the clinics was so enthusiastic! It really seems like you can get a lot out of the clinics.

And the student that did my tour said they were in the process of renovating the whole school, so the parts that aren't nice should get nicer.

checking in! i'm here for the weekend as well, and ^ is pretty much exactly how i am feeling as of today. wasn't blown away, but could definitely see myself very happy here. the people i have met, both admits and current students, are both impressive and non-awkward, down to earth people that i have actually enjoyed spending time with. the location is also fantastic - right between nyc and dc. is anyone doing the trolley ride?
