Travel Stipdend/Reimbursement?

I know the question has been asked before, but I think my mediocre searching skills have stopped me from finding the thread.
Couple of questions:
Which schools provide travel stipends?
and
How does one go about asking a school if they do reimburse for visits?
Thanks!

Pacific and Penn State offer reimbursements for travel expenses, those are the only schools I've heard back from that give them, I am sure that all the top schools also do

How do you usually go about asking a school if they do it? I feel like it'd be awkward to ask, but for a few of the schools I want to visit, the stipend would
really help.

I actually emailed one of my safety schools that I've already been admitted to (one that I have no intention of attending, but located in a sweet city) and asked for a travel reimbursement and then got a voicemail from their admissions dean apologizing and saying that they don't... Anyways I kind of felt bad attempting to take advantage of a tier 3 school that has already offered me a full tuition scholarship so I probably wont ask anymore.
I forgot to mention in my previous post that Michigan State also gives travel stipends of up to $350.

Bump. Has anyone else had experience with this? Specifically BU, GW, or W&M?

I've just emailed schools and flat out asked. I feel bad asking, but what else can you do? I actually emailed Penn State, but they do not provide reimbursement or a stipend.

Really? How did you find out about it? I asked them about a travel stipend in a relatively long email and they didn't answer that question. How strange but thanks for the info!

Does anyone know if $200 is the absolute max that Chicago gives for reimbursement?
A plane ticket alone would cost me more than that, not to mention cab and other misc fares...
But I really want to visit!
Thanks!

UIUC will give a 250 deduction off your 1st deposit to "reimburse" you for your travel expenses. Kinda a BS way to do things since its really a deposit on your tuition and I'll have to end up paying it anyways.

There is nothing awkward about requesting funding when these schools' websites explicitly state reimbursements are often offered. E-mailing is one (slow, and whiny) way to do it, I just called up the dean's office and asked.
At one CCN, the assistant dean told me the admissions offices talk to each other and can even split costs if you are visiting the same city or making a long trip across coasts. Therefore, the stipend limits are probably more guidelines than hard-and-fast rules. Generally after you request the funding you will then have to write an e-mail appeal and they will let you know how much of the stipend you are eligible to receive. I'm pretty sure you get the money back in May regardless of where you matriculate.
Grow a pair and use the phone, this could be a huge part of your job in 3 years. Think of it as practice. (Plus, you are already admitted, what do you have to lose by asking?)

Cornell states:The above-named firm will pledge $200 for hotel and $50 for transportation to or from the airport to the Cornell Law School Public Interest Program in exchange for the student's choice to forego hotel accommodations and/or airport taxis.

I live in North Dakota (i.e. not within 500 miles of any school I'm remotely interested in), and I'm trying to figure out how to arrange a massive stipend-fueled cross-country law-school-ASW road trip. It depends on each school's timing, but this thread has real potential to help in the plan.
