Does visiting a school help if you're not on the waitlist?

I've been "app complete" at my top choice for about five months now with no movement. I saw a lot of threads about visiting a law school when you're on the wait list... but is it worth making the trip (it's a long drive, but not unreasonable)if you're not even on the waitlist? I'm below the 25% percentile for both LSAT/GPA, so it's a bit of a stretch for me to get in. If it'll help, it's definitely worth the shot. Anyone have any similar experiences?

It helped me. I went for a visit and when they pulled my file to review they discovered that one member of the committee had not voted on my admission. They called later that day and congratulated me on my acceptance. So I'd say it definitely can't hurt. Who knows how long it would have continued to sit like that before they noticed if I hadn't gone down there.
