Fried Chicken..I'm soldespressocream wrote:Just visited today. Was surprised and have actually fallen in love with the town.
Bars -- yeah I know of two -- the Palm and Macado's (which is where law students go).
Enjoy!
Also -- fried chicken at the Southern Inn is delicious.
Looks like a good place to be to study and stuff . I like the quiet town setting for hitting the study. Hoping for a city life afterwards though haha. Overall I was really impressed and the Walmart was nice... HahahaJayJones78 wrote:So what are your post visit thoughts? I loved it and could most def see myself in Lexington for three years.
Hahaha I hate Walmart but prob if you live there you can't help by hitting itlhanvt13 wrote:Looks like a good place to be to study and stuff . I like the quiet town setting for hitting the study. I'm wondering if it's 24/7 .. Hopefully it is . Kroger closed early when I drove by . I need a late night option for comfort foodJayJones78 wrote:Hahaha I hate Walmart but prob if you live there you can't help by hitting itlhanvt13 wrote:Looks like a good place to be to study and stuff . I anticipate A LOT of amazon deliveries in these three years if I end up there. So much that I'll prob have to drop the drivers some Xmas gestures every yearlhanvt13 wrote:I'm wondering if it's 24/7 .. Hopefully it is . Kroger closed early when I drove by . I had some great pizza by Main Street. I mistakenly ordered to slices. They were huge and so good!!! I did see a dominos there but for the life of me I don't get why someone in such a small town would give money to chain and not support a small business owner.rebexness wrote:The pizza place by the Wal-Marts is TCR.
I loved it, too. Honestly, my only two issues with the school are that (1) it's on the other side of the country from my family and (2) I have no idea what my husband would do there. If it were just me, I know I would have an awesome three years at W&L, but the hubs and the fam are pretty big factors.JayJones78 wrote:So what are your post visit thoughts? I can def get that. I do think they have a special club for spouses or at least that's what one guy said in the student life panel.FortunaGubernans wrote:I loved it, too. Also Roanoke and Charlottesville arent too far away if your husband doesn't mind a <= 1 hour commute? depending on where you live as well since it's extremely cheap about 15~20 min south of lexington towards Roanoke so the commute would be cut for your husband and you wouldn't have to be too far from the school either.JayJones78 wrote:I can def get that.
