about to be 1L and just wondering about the necessity of a laptop? i have an ipad and desktop but was wondering the benefits/ necessity of laptop. any advice helpful. thanks!

Check with your school. Many (most? all?) REQUIRE a laptop for exams. Some people can get away with an iPad (or pen/paper) for taking notes on a daily basis, but you're likely gonna need a laptop, even if it's not what you carry to class every day.
