What's the best sites for keeping down flight costs for ASW visits?
So far, I'm really liking Sidestep.

I've never heard that. I'll definitely try it : )Curious1 wrote:Always buy on a Tuesday afternoon--that's when most airline sales come out.
Spirit is great, but don't depend on them to be on time... and they charge fees for everything. However, they are super cheap, so if you are flexible, they are a great option.paul34 wrote:you could try spirit airlines, but they don't fly everywhere, and they'll charge you even for a carry on. But if you can fit your weekend stuff into a personal bag, you could give it a go (if they fly to where you're going). It can be pretty cheap at times.
disclaimer: I've never flown with spirit before, but know people who have.
Wow. I can't find anything cheaper than $450 and I'm only going Chicago >> Portland.ilovesf wrote:http://www.cheaptickets.com
booked my nonstop flight from SF to NYC last week for March - around $350.
Tagging for future reference--thanks for posting the link.ilovesf wrote:http://www.cheaptickets.com

Smaller airports are sometimes more expensive since less supply for more demand.llachans wrote:Wow. I can't find anything cheaper than $450 and I'm only going Chicago >> Portland.ilovesf wrote:http://www.cheaptickets.com

Yeah, this. Also I use the option that's something like "check for flights three days in advance and three days after" to see what days are the cheapestCurious1 wrote:Smaller airports are sometimes more expensive since less supply for more demand.llachans wrote:Wow. Sometimes what you can do is buy a flight from SF to NYC that STOPS in Chicago, get off in Chicago, and not take the second leg. But airlines frown upon this and it only works if you do it one way--since if you don't get on the second leg, you void the entire contract, including the return flight.ilovesf wrote:Yeah, this. Basically Portland to/from anywhere will be $400+, unless it's Portland to Vegas or San Jose. Even flights to hub cities are ridonk from here.llachans wrote:Wow. I can't find anything cheaper than $450 and I'm only going Chicago >> Portland.ilovesf wrote:http://www.cheaptickets.com

Suddenly everything makes sense!Curious1 wrote:Always buy on a Tuesday afternoon--that's when most airline sales come out.
I have to second the bing travel thing. It's actually really nice how it tells you whether prices have been increasing or decreasing. I got a super steal $140 round trip ticket from DC to chicago thanks to the magical world of Bing.citygirl000 wrote:Hipmunk.com or bing.com/travel - both pretty great
Non law school related, but I just booked a Ft Lauderdale to San Fran nonstop for $210 roundtrip in May on Virigin. Plus virgin is the best airline I have ever been on in my life.splitbrain wrote:http://www.skyscanner.com was a big one for me back when Kayak was just starting out
Edit: Just found SF <-> NYC in March for $280 non-stop via Virgin America, for example.
Expedia shows you search results with mix-and-matched airline 1-way tickets. Sometimes they're cheaper, sometimes they're not.thegoodpart wrote:I find sometimes booking 2 one-way tickets instead of round trip can knock money off. For ASW I just booked my flight with one-way tickets and saved $60.
