I'm going to NY in August for a wedding, and thought I would email CLS and NYU to see if I can visit their campus. SHould I be in a suit when visiting? Or is casual wear fine for a campus visit?

No one has ever discussed this on TLS before. Ever.

What is with all of these dress code threads lately? No suit...never. Wear something casual and comfortable...though I wouldn't go sweat pants comfortable.

It's worth mentioning that there isn't much to see on a law school campus when they are out of session. I'd call the admissions office and make sure you can even tour.

JW what do you plan on wearing to class when you're in law school?

I wore a suit to a information session for a grad program, out of everyone who was there that day, I think was the only one admitted. Only a correlation. I also wore a suit to the interview as well. I think professional impression is still important, especially if the event is some sort of info session, not a tour.

I wear tshirt and shorts to work, so I rarely dress up in a suit.
