Didn't see a thread for this, so I thought I would start one. Who is going to the open house tomorrow in Champaign?

Anybody going, or am I the only one? That would be interesting...

I'll be there! I can't wait to see what this place actually looks like in the daylight (arrived at O'Hare at 7:30 tonight, rented a car for the first time ever and just finished driving here). Did you do your reading?

I'm doing it now actually. Where did you fly in from?

Can anyone who went to the open house this weekend share their experience? I'm deciding between going to the one in April or visiting another weekend that's more convenient for me. Would it be worth it to try to go to the official event?

If you're really considering UIUC I recommend that you go to the April event, I went to yesterday's event and it really helped me get a better picture of the school. You get an opportunity to interact with professors and students that you will not get if you visit on a regular day.

The student's attitude towards their school and classmates was the best from the schools that I've visited so far.

I also recommend that you stay for the evening out with the students. It was fun and helpful.
