Anyone going to FSU's Scholars Day?
I've been accepted to FSU and it is one of my first choices so I feel like I need to visit. Plane tickets are really expensive to Tally though so I am waiting to hear back from a couple other Florida schools because if I am accepted elsewhere in the state I might just wait and do a week long spring break trip to FL.
Do you think I would miss out on much by not going to the Scholar's Day and just visiting on another normal day??

As someone that's had to travel to and from Tallahassee quite a few times, my advice would be to consider flying into Jacksonville and renting a car. It's a pretty easy two-hour drive to Tallahassee from there, and flights to Jacksonville tend to be a lot cheaper because the airport is so much bigger.
Just something to consider if you haven't already....

Re: Anyone going to FSU's Scholars Day?
thank you iowagirl for the advice about flying into jax. i will look up those ticket prices.
headybrah, i got an invite to the scholars day via email a few days ago. i just got accepted the end of last week via phone call and just got the acceptance letter in the mail today. it did not mention $ in it, but i'm not expecting any. (163, 3.3, non-URM). even though i am out of state, fsu is one of my first choices for family reasons, so any $ would be extremely helpful.

I'm thinking of going. I'm in Gainesville, so the trip isn't a major haul for me.
By biggest concern is Dave Matthews Band tickets go on sale that morning at 10 am. Those concerts are a big part of my graduation celebration plans...

Seeing this thread reminded me that I should go ahead and RSVP. Does anyone know if getting the invite is an indicator of a likely scholarship offer in the near future

I think we'll get all the information next week since the event is at the end of the week. Perhaps they'll mention the proper attire as well.
