UCLA LAW ON-CAMPUS RECEPTIONS FOR ADMITTED STUDENTS

The Office of Admissions is sponsoring two on-campus receptions for admitted students:

* Monday, March 15, 2010 (4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) and
* Sunday, April 18, 2010 (11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

UCLA REGIONAL RECEPTIONS FOR ALUMNI AND ADMITTED STUDENTS

We are also hosting several receptions outside the Los Angeles area. Faculty and administrators of the Law School will be in attendance along with alumni that live in the area.

* Washington, DC (Wednesday, March 24, 2010);
* New York City, NY (Thursday, March 25, 2010); and
* San Francisco, CA (Monday, April 5, 2010).

Is anyone considering attending any of these ASD's as of now?

From what I've read in past threads yes - it's first come first serve to all admitted applicants. But I will email Dean Schwartz and ask him.

this thread is so dead - but since March 15 is 2 weeks away, anyone going? it'll be funny if there were 10 ppl there.

what's a good place to stay? UCLA guest house? and does anyone know how long it'll take to get to LAX? they have a shuttle but would traffic make it really long? any other ways to get to the airport? (no car). thanks.

Shouldnt take more than 30 min with traffic when you take the fly away. Guest house is right next to the law school, but I dont hear great things about it. There is hotel down the street just south of the campus

I want to go! I hope I get admitted on time :?

take the flyaway bus. goes directly from LAX to westwood, takes anywhere from 25 min to 45 min depending on traffic. as for places to stay, there are some cheap options in santa monica, including motels and hostels.

stay with a current UCLA law student! if you have any specific interests (like I do) some kids are really cool about you crashing on their couches for a night or two.

i saw that...the hotel Palomar. it did look better than the guesthouse, but which is closer to the Flyaway bus stop? or is the difference negligible?

Hey the Palomar is where I'm staying. Glad to see there might be some ohers there. Is the guest house the UCLA run hotel?

UCLA is one of the jewels of Los Angeles.. the campus is unbeatable. Try to see a little of Westwood too.
I'll be there March 15. Very excited! Am a UCLA undergrad who's been in LA my whole life, so maybe not as excited as some others, but UCLA is my top choice school..

by the way, is anyone bringing guests? Both my parents & my boyfriend are coming. Looking into other ASDs makes me think bringing guests is not the norm.

I would love to go to the ASD, but I have to get in first. At this point, it looks like I'll have to go to the April one, if at all.

There were plenty of guests at the Cornell ASD this weekend. The only problem I could see is that they might hold you back from meeting everyone or going out. If they don't mind waiting at the hotel though while you enjoy yourself then its fine lol.

I'll be there on the 15th. No travel stipend for me since I'm already in the vicinity.

I will definitely be there on the 15th. I'm staying with my best friend who lives in West Hollywood. No travel stipend... but I got an excellent deal. Also, I would be up for getting a drink after with anyone else who's interested.

I'm excited! Snowpocalypse made me feel like warm, sunny weather was a distant dream. I'm ready to make it a reality again.

Anyone in town a little early and want to go for a run or grab drinks tomorrow? If there is anything a beach run in Malibu taught me after flying from the Northeast, it's that seasons can suck it :)
