I called up the admissions office to get an update, really nice and helpful people. The admissions person said my application is in front of a faculty member now, which is an understandably slow process since their classes have begun. She also said I should get an online response by the end of next week and a mail response the week after that.

The anticipation is killing me, but I can at least stop frantically checking the online status checker every 5 minutes...for this week at least lol

My file has been in front of the admissions committee since 11/24/09. I'm dying to get an answer back; I really wanna stay in upstate NY for law school and my law career.

They seem really slow.

I'm feeling like a conspiracy theorist as each day passes; I'm debating whether the long time to return an answer is good news, bad news, or means nothing at all.

For example, my numbers were not competitive at UB and I received their decision only a week after the new year, which of course was rejection. Similar to the rest of you, I've been stalking all the websites looking for answers, like lawschoolnumbers.com, like it's my job and noticed people with solid numbers seemed to have gotten a faster response.

So what I'm wondering is, does this train of thought have any merit and if so, how would you interpret the length of time?

As another conversation starter, would any of you likely attend Albany if you were accepted? I probably would, but my aspirations are in public interest and I want to stay in New York so it makes for a good fit in my situation.

I'm not sure if I would attend or not. I would have to see what my other choices are. Like you though, I'm solely interested in public interest and would be fine with living in NY. I've been "File With Admissions Committee" since 12/10...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is stressing this. I have been complete since mid-December, still nothing.

Status checker changed "current status date" to today. The "current status" field is blank. I don't think that's a good sign.

hmmm, that is weird. My status checker still has good old 11/24 staring me down. Might be worth making the phone call to admissions to see whatsup

waitlisted (151, 3.22), as expected due to obsessively checking lawschoolnumbers.com. looks like most people with a 150-152 LSAT got waitlisted

I was "before admissions committee" as of January 4th and just got accepted via status checker yesterday...still no e-mail, weird but a letter is on the way I assume. For all those still waiting, a long wait doesn't always mean a waitlist!

Under review as of 2/11 and under mailings it says "Career Center brochure" as of 2/16. Does this mailing while I am under review from their career center mean I have been accepted?

For those still waiting were the seat deposit amounts always showing. I can't recall if they have always been up there. Good luck to all...153/2.74 Non trad. URM
