So how long do they give you guys to make a decision? And is the decision yes?

Ha, indeed.tommytahoe wrote:I should also say that jks and I have by far the hottest avatars on this thread. That should count for something.
I have (finally) all but convinced myself that getting a 169 instead of a 170 didn't ruin my life. But I have a feeling based on who is getting pulled that they are trying their hardest to maintain that 170 median in both programs. Next week is going to be a looong week.

If you got a 169, maybe they'll take both of us and keep their 170 median.jks289 wrote:Ha, indeed.tommytahoe wrote:I should also say that jks and I have by far the hottest avatars on this thread. That should count for something.

They gave until May 10th to put down a deposit, or else you can submit a letter that binds you to enroll.savesthedayajb wrote:So how long do they give you guys to make a decision? And is the decision yes?
I kind of want to hear back from Northwestern before I do anything... but could give two shits about Cornell or any other school I apped to.

My GPA ins't that hot either. (3.5) I thought my numbers were good for PT, but I don't really know how they are reacting to the new ranking rules. I'd imagine by trying to get the PT numbers to match the FT numbers as much as possible.savesthedayajb wrote:Hopefully they need some kind of GPA boost :/AdamatUCF wrote:If you got a 169, maybe they'll take both of us and keep their 170 median.jks289 wrote:Ha, indeed.tommytahoe wrote:I should also say that jks and I have by far the hottest avatars on this thread. I'm sure you're good dude. Your numbers are competitive for full-time and there is no way they can match the standards with their PT program. If you want to get in, a LOCI that you spent a good 3 hours on or a really good LOR will probably make the difference... It seemed to work for me.jks289 wrote:

Admissions office about to close, we'll probably hear something next week.
That's a good amount of time. I thought they'd allow 2-3 days off the WL.Xizenta wrote:They gave until May 10th to put down a deposit, or else you can submit a letter that binds you to enroll.savesthedayajb wrote:So how long do they give you guys to make a decision? And is the decision yes?

Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
I sent in a full page LOCI and enumerated my reasons for wanting to attend PT. I spent a fair amount of time on it. I think it is probably too late for another LOR. So I am just hoping the LOCI is enough. Does anyone know how big the PT class is?Xizenta wrote:I'm sure you're good dude. Ya, I am curious about this as well. I am hoping the regular waitlist has a few seats for it set aside cause we are the cool applicants.lawapps0502 wrote:so is it safe to say at this point that people on the regular wait list are not getting in?

Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
I think at this point we're all fair game - SPWHL, PWL, and WL
I have this book called "How to Get into the Top Law Schools" (2004) Andy Cornblatt is quoted as saying,
"We have two wait lists, our priority and our regular. In an average year, 450-500 are offered places on our priority list, and 25-50 are admitted from it. Similarly, 2000 are offered places on our regular list, and 10-20 admitted. Of course, the numbers admitted from our wait lists vary dramatically from one year to the next"
so - there's that info for what its worth

Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
I've been keeping track of who gets picked up from the WL on the Official TLS WL--> Accept thread
More on georgetown. I've included some old data from LSN and some update. The great news is they are still giving scholarships off of the WL.
gobearsss 173 3.28 WL, Accepted A
afinlay 169 3.8 WL, Accepted A (today)
IHaveDietMoxie 171 3.79 $96,000 WL, Accepted
pertristis N 177 3.42 $30,000 WL, Accepted
holybartender 176 3.35 WL, Accepted
acdisagod 171 3.6 WL, Accepted
Tecumseh 172 3.51 WL, Accepted
raspberryfruitcake WL, Accepted
daninalionsden 171 3.77 $120,000 WL, Accepted (today)
iamtaw 175 3.5 WL, Accepted
ornbarn 171 3.6 WL, Accepted
TX0L N 176 3.6 WL, Accepted
Beatrice 171 3.2 WL, Accepted
griddler 173 3.65 WL, Accepted
highsplit12 177 3.7 WL, Accepted
gscfire33 171 3.83 WL, Accepted
shawshank 173 3.23 WL, Accepted(today)
Xizenta 173 3.18 WL, Accepted(today)
semangat N 168 3.67 WL, Accepted(this week)
mrm2083 171 3.43 $37,500 WL, Accepted W(recent)
lck06 172 3.54 WL, Accepted W (recent)
Chezdik 172 3.71 WL, Accepted W(this week)
clintonius 172 3.8 WL, Accepted W(today)
razak 172 3.81 WL, Accepted W
pelmen74 170 3.7 WL, Accepted W(today)
keifer24 U 162 3.15 WL, Rejected
HailtoPitt U 167 3.3 WL, Rejected(this week)
1armedscissor 164 3.96 WL, Rejected W
75th GPA: 3.81 75th LSAT: 171
Median GPA: 3.7 Median LSAT: 168
25th GPA: 3.45 25th LSAT: 166
There doesn't seem to be any change in strategy here. They are still picking up people with LSATs equal to* or above the median and not accepting anyone with LSAT below the median. All the WL-->rejections are below the LSAT median. GPAs are all over the place.
* semangat N was accepted today with an LSAT score equal to the median. S/He is the lowest LSAT score accepted.
The fact that they are giving scholarships off of the waitlist is hopeful. I don't see any rhyme or reason behind who gets scholarships. Do you?

For people who got in off the waitlist and got scholarship money, was that included in the email you got? Or did it come later?

Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
Mine came a bit later, and out of the blue. I learned about my acceptance to GULC whilst visiting the campus. When I asked about merit monies, I was told that I wouldn't hear anything back until several weeks later (April 12th I believe). I received my scholarship info on March 25th, without having filled out the yellow form.holybartender wrote:Thanks man, I'm sure you'll get in.Encyclopedia Brown wrote:All by myseeeelf, don't wanna be... all by myself... anymore...holybartender wrote:Also in from the spwl.

I wonder how long it will take them to figure out where they stand on Monday. Are all their deposits paid online?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
