Telling you they received your application and to expect a decision before classes start in the fall.

I bet it's a formality and they just wanted to make sure you didn't fail something mundane before admitting you.

It seems like I'm the only one they did it for, though. My GPA wasn't stellar, but my overall GPA stayed exactly the same, so I should be fine.

Pure genius.

I get palpitations (not a good thing at my age) every time I go to Inbox (1).

This thread is hilarious. I have Hotmail, so I set it to filter all mail with the word "law" in the subject line to a folder designated for law school stuff. Every time I see that folder in bold with the (1) next to it I think I'm going to crap myself.

Seriously, this law school anticipation nonsense needs to stop. I'm hoping to hear back from every school I applied to by the end of March, but I know that is just wishful thinking...

My iPhone email alert pretty much makes my heart jump into my chest every time I hear it. Most of my friends now warn me before they send emails, and my facebook email alerts have been off for weeks at this point. Glad to see I have company in Crazytown. Haha

Thanks for the tip - I created a law school folder and filter, so now I won't also freak out each time an email shows up, only to be a "VIAGARA CURE XXXX JESUS" thing.

I'm in the same spot as you. Except that they haven't even asked me for fall grades...

Every time I see the title of this thread I feel the urge to click on it and read its contents, even if nothing has been updated.

I just got (1) as I was writing this message. I am resisting my urge to stop writing this post to check it. I hope it dies in a fire.
I'm at (8501) I can't sympathize

That is one spam message title I would have to open. I would just have to. How can you not?

It has taken me 10 minutes longer than it should have to read this whole thread because my mac's mail application keeps getting the (1) followed by the "Mail Motherfucker" sound that has recently been inducing bigger and bigger heart attacks.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has gone coo-coo for [strike]coco puffs[/strike] law school mail.

So not only did I get the "Inbox (1)" heart attack, I got the personname@schoolIappliedto.edu email titled "School Name Application".

Turns out that my application is considered "complete" and they wanted me to know the app was going to be reviewed at some point someday.

+1. I never noticed how many newsletters I was subscribed to until I started expecting to hear back from law schools... I've unsubscribed to about 15 in the past few days...

Yesterday, I lost my shit hurrying to check Inbox (1) to discover...an invitation to buy a "potion for heroic banging."

:?
